Code-Mandated Fee Reviews
Various sections of San Francisco code require the Controller to report on departments' fee schedules. The codes outline legal requirements and authorization to increase fees, including application of changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as calculated annually by the Controller and provided to departments in January. These reports include a calculation of FY 2008-09 fee levels including the applicable CPI, and a certification, based on information from departments, that the fees do not produce revenue materially more than the cost of providing the services for which each fee is assessed. Please note the electronic version of this report does not include copies of code sections, which are available at San Francisco Municipal Codes Index.
